GUSTINE – A West Side resident turns his interest in photography from hobby to profession.
Newman’s Terrah Vitorino will soon be opening a studio in downtown Gustine to house her business, TJV Photography.
Vitorino said she has conducted a variety of photo shoots on location and looks forward to further developing her business with the studio located at 461 Fifth St. in Gustine, which she hopes to open in early mid-May.
His interest in photography is very broad, explained Vitorino, as are his clientele.
Newborns, family groups, couples, maternity photos, weddings, boudoir photos, senior citizen portraits and special events are among its offerings.
“I like to do everything,” Vitorino explained. “I love being able to capture this special moment for people, especially with the photos of newborns and maternity. You can never get that time back. “
Vitorino said her long-standing interest in photography started to take a more serious turn when she started taking photos largely as a hobby in 2016 and 2017. Her subjects were typically friends and family , Vitorino explained, but she was sharing her work on social media. and be noticed.
“It got more serious in 2018. That’s when my Instagram started to explode,” she said. “More and more people were asking me for photos. I told my husband it was time to buy a new camera. When I got the new camera, I decided to take it more seriously. “
Vitorino said she enjoys knowing her clients and working with them to understand their needs.
Customers often share their opinions on potential locations and poses, she noted.
“I have a list of suggested locations if they are not safe. Sometimes they give me a scene they want, like the countryside or by a lake, and I’ll pick a place for them, ”Vitorino commented.
She said she liked to put clients at ease.
“I think I am a human person,” commented Vitorino. “I’m not afraid to talk and get to know people. I am not shy.”
She has always had a sense of perfection in photography, explained Vitorino, and appreciates the creative side of the profession.
“I like to try different things. That’s what catches people’s attention these days, ”said Gustine High 2016 graduate.“ A few years ago, traditional photos were what everyone was doing. Now people come up with (new) ideas and there are stylish shoots. There is a whole world to discover (with) photography. That’s what’s cool about it. You never stop learning with photography. “
