Valhalla, NY, Aug. 11, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — FUJIFILM North America Corporation announces the North American debut of Fujikina New York, a must-attend interactive festival for anyone interested in photography, cinematography, the arts and the latest FUJIFILM device digital photo. This dynamic and curated public event will showcase the power of image making through a special exhibition of selected works by an emerging generation of image makers. Previously and exclusively at FUJIFILM Corporation’s global headquarters in Tokyo, Fujikina will be held for the first time in North America on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the iconic Glass House, located at 660 12th Avenue in New york (please note that this address was updated from a previous version).

The event will feature a mix of hands-on seminars and workshops with celebrity creators who will share experiences, techniques and insights into various styles of image making, such as portraiture, photojournalism, landscape and more. In honor of this milestone and demonstrating Fujifilm’s commitment to storytelling, Fujikina will celebrate with a special project featuring images and stories from 10 remarkable female imagemakers, all with varying backgrounds and skill sets. These artists were handpicked to each imagine a project and received funding, technical support and guidance from Fujifilm throughout the process to bring these projects to life. Topics range from a climatic post-apocalypse tale about finding beauty amidst hardship, to an exploration of rites of passage and coming-of-age stories, to an adventure-focused play about the climbers over 40, and more.

Throughout the Fujikina New York room, the photo and video works of Fujifilm’s creators will be exhibited in a variety of formats. Several seminar sessions under the themes Life in Motion (Filmmaking), Life in Detail (Resolution) and Life in Color (Color and Resolution) will also be offered.
